Shakia loves all types of music, creating, crafting, traveling (tanning), and learning new things.

Shakia began her nursing career in 2007 as a pediatric nurse. She enjoyed many years caring for children and their families in the hospital setting and in the emergency room. Shakia worked as an emergency room nurse for ten years while pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing. She obtained her certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2015 and continued to work in emergency medicine for a few years before transitioning to primary care and joining First Georgia Physician group. Shakia truly enjoys face-to-face patient care and delights in assisting patients to their optimal levels of health.
