Biography

Dr. Ferrol Sams is interested in the prevention of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Sams graduated magna cum laude from William Marsh Rice University in Houston, Texas. He earned his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. His internal medicine internship and residency were completed at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland Air Force Base in Texas, and he was chief of internal medicine at Bergstrom AFB Hospital in Austin, Texas. In 2009 he became board certified in Palliative Medicine and spent about 10% of his time overseeing the care of terminal patients as the Medical Director of Hospice Advantage.
